Triller Fight Club will present Teófimo López vs George Kambosos Jr. event on October 16. Lopez will put his titles on the line against George Kambosos Jr. in a long-awaited clash. López’s WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and The Ring Lightweight titles – all will be up for grabs in this fight.
The fight has been postponed or moved atleast five times until now. First, it was scheduled for June 5 this year before being moved to June 19. The bout had to be postponed once again after López was contracted COVID-19.
The lightweight blockbuster has been a few months in the making since Kambosos beat Lee Selby in his own backyard and Lopez outpointed Vasiliy Lomachenko.
The fight will see two unbeaten rising stars square-off in a 135-pound epic, with even bigger fights and paydays on offer.

Then, Triller tried to stage the event in Australia, which led to strong opposition from López’s camp and IBF forced Triller to move it somewhere. After some attempts to stage it in the Middle East, Triller finally locked the bout to take place at Hulu Theater in Maddison Square Garden on October 4, 2021.
The fight was once again moved from October 4 to October 16 and to Barclays Center, due to some unknown reason.
Both fighters remain unbeaten in their professional boxing career. And if that was not enough, all the drama around the fight has also increased the anticipation around the bout among the fans.
Triller Fight Club brought the rights to stage the fight with a purse bid of $6 million. They will also pay Kambosos Jr. around $2.1 million in a guaranteed salary for this bout. With Triller getting the rights, the boxing PPV will air via Fite TV worldwide from 8 PM EST onwards on October 16.

“Teofimo Lopez has symptomatic COVID-19, which was confirmed this morning after testing,” Triller’s Ryan Kavanaugh said in a statement.
“The entire Triller Fight Club card, including the main event, is being rescheduled for Aug. 14.
We send our best to Teofimo Lopez and his family and hope they get better soon. We can’t wait to see this epic battle on Aug. 14.”
